After serving in the Roman army.  I developed an intrest in politics. As a memeber of an old aristoatic family I was expected at the competition of my education  to assume a modest office on the lower end of the long ladder of the roman political career.

My name is Julius Ceasar. I was born in Rome to an Aurelia and Gaius Julius Ceasar, a praetor. My family had noble, patrician roots, although they were neither rich nor influential in this period. My father died, and a few years later I was betlothed and possibly married to a wealthy young woman, Cossutia.
